A Few of the Few

This project led directly from being privileged enough to have met a few of Churchill’s ‘Few’ from running ‘Local Heroes’. These gentlemen were of some three thousand who courageously fought over our skies in the summer of 1940. Had they lost the Battle of Britain, approximately 175,000 German Troops were poised to invade the only remaining Western European country still standing against Hitler. From May until September 1940, their brave actions helped turn the course of the Second World War.
